"Until Christ be formed in you." (Galatians 4:19)
Pearls are made in a fascinating way. The oyster literally takes the grain of sand that causes it irritation and pain and wraps it in layer after layer of mother of pearl. Instead of trying to escape the pain, it works with it until a pearl is produced. That worthless piece of sand is now a precious stone that has great value. So what has been irritating you lately? What about that problem you've asked God to take away, but it is still there? God has given you an opportunity to take that thing and cover it with a layer of grace, a layer of patience, a layer of faith, and a layer of compassion. It takes years for a grain of sand to become a pearl, and the work God is doing in you will not be accomplished overnight. Paul promised the Christians in Galatia that he would pray until "Christ be formed in you." There it is! God's goal for us is to have the world look at us and see the character of Jesus, the Pearl of Great Price. What a high calling! Now read it again, and begin to seek His face "until Christ be formed in you."
